Floyd Alton Brittian was born to Leslie and Gladys (Smith) Brittian on October 17, 1930, at Childress, TX.   He departed this life on February 13, 2019, at the Veterans Hospital in Temple, TX. at the age of 88 years.

Al graduated from Childress Senior High School, May 29, 1950, and was inducted into the US Army on April 5, 1951.  He received an Honorable Discharge on December 22, 1951, at Fort Hood, TX. due to both brothers being wounded.  However, he liked to tell everyone it was because he was too tall for the beds and the uniform.

He was self-employed as Al’s Electric before his retirement. Al made his home in Cleveland County, OK. for many years before moving to Georgetown, TX.  He was a cowboy at heart and loved cattle, horses, and trail riding. He was a longtime board member of the Oklahoma Electric Cooperative for many years.

Al and Ruth M. Howarth were married in Lexington, OK on December 29, 1978.  Since Ruth was also a cowgirl at heart, they both enjoyed country living, horses, trail rides, and a little golf together for forty years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother L. H. (“Bud”) Brittian and a sister Inez Brittian Woodall (“Sis”).  He is survived by his wife Ruth, daughter Danna Hobbs and husband Wade of Weatherford, TX., son Les Brittian and wife Dee of Norman, OK., stepson David Howarth and wife Terry of Georgetown, TX., and stepson Mark Howarth and wife Annette of Evergreen, CO., a brother Dannie Brittian and wife Lucy of Yukon, OK., nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one great great grandchild, nieces and nephews, and many wonderful friends.
