            Cleta Muriel (Loveless) Jones was born to Ed and Vestes (Meltabarger) Loveless on June 20, 1922, at Noble, Ok. She departed this life on October 8, 2019, at the Norman Regional Hospital at the age of (97) years.

            Cleta was a lifetime resident of Noble. She graduated from the Noble High School and just a few years ago she was the oldest living graduate. She and Mr. Tommie Steven Jones were United in Marriage and made their home in Noble. Their marriage was for (41) years. Tommie preceded Cleta in death on November 29, 1986. Cleta was baptized at the age of (13) at the First Baptist Church of Noble. She sang in a Quartet at the Church and also at School. Later she was a member of the Sweet Adelines. Cleta said that some of the best friends she ever had were made during her time with the Sweet Adelines.

            Cleta’s accomplishments consist of helping operate the plumbing and electrical business, Tommie’s Café on Main Street, Tommie’s Drive-in north end of Noble, operated a grocery store, Tommie’s Drive-in south end of Noble, owned and operated a clothing store, City Clerk for many years, bookkeeper for Tom Schrader Construction, owned rental property, owned and operated Cleta’s Cottage(residential care facility), member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Sweet Adelines and later in life she was a caregiver (this is what she loved to do—help people. She loved life, loved singing but most of all she loved her family.

            Cleta was preceded in death by her parents, Husband Tommie, (4) Brothers: Scott, Gene, Alton and Boyce, (1) Sister Ruby Meltabarger and a Grandson Steven Howell. Those who survive her include (2) Daughters; Rita Carpenter and Husband Danny of Noble and Louann Meyers of Noble, (1) Sister Anita Mason of Noble, (4) Grandchildren, (10) Great Grandchildren, (1) Great Great on the Way and many friends that will miss her dearly.
